Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires every public authority to adopt a publication scheme which has been approved by the Information Commissioner, and to publsh information in accordance with that scheme.

Publication Scheme

We have adopted the single approved model publication scheme [External website] published centrally by the Information Commissioner.

Guide to Information

The Committee is an unpaid advisory non-departmental public body and has no executive role. Information about who we are and what we do, what we spend and how we spend it, and what our priorities are and how we are doing can be found in the About Us and Overview sections of this website, and is also included in our published reports, copies of which are available in the Publications section. The services we offer, our policies and procedures and how we make decisions about the advice we give are determined by the Rules and Guidelines which form our remit from the Government. Lists of those appointments taken up (or announced as to be taken up) by former Crown servants and former Ministers on which the Committee has offered advice are normally published on this website and in our reports.

Charges

Single copies of the information described in this scheme are available free of charge from the above address. The Rules on the Acceptance of Outside Appointments by Crown servants (including Guidance for departments and agencies on the Rules) are available on this website.

Reproduction for sale or other commercial purposes is not permitted. For any other use, or if in doubt, further information and guidance notes on publishing and copyright are available from HMSO’s Licensing Division (telephone 01603 621000).
